520 | _aABSTRACT A field experiment was conducted during rabi 2023-24 on “Studies on effect of Nano-DAP and Nano Urea on growth and yield of rabi Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench) in Northern Transition Zone of Karnataka” at AICRP on Sorghum, MARS, UAS, Dharwad. The experiment was replicated thrice in split plot design with two main plots, seven sub plots and a control. The results indicated that, among fertilizer levels, application of 100 % RDF recorded significantly higher grain weight panicle-1 (78.71 g), 1000-grain weight (33.61 g), grain yield (42.10 q ha-1), fodder yield (9.05 t ha-1), net returns ( 119606 ha-1) and B:C ratio (3.76) over 80% RDF. Among foliar spray, seed dressing with Nano-DAP @ 15ml/kg seeds + foliar spray of Nano Urea @ 4ml/l + Nano-DAP @ 4ml/l at PE (Panicle Emergence) recorded significantly higher grain weight panicle-1 (79.21 g), 1000-grain weight (33.88 g), grain yield (43.54 q ha-1), fodder yield (9.45 t ha-1) and net returns ( 122903 ha-1) compared to other foliar sprays. Among interaction, application of 100 % RDF + Seed dressing with Nano-DAP @ 15ml/kg seeds + foliar spray of Nano Urea @ 4ml/l + Nano-DAP @ 4ml/l at PE recorded significantly higher grain weight panicle-1 (89.62 g), 1000-grain weight (34.33 g), grain yield (44.19 q ha-1), fodder yield (9.59 t ha-1), net returns ( 123341 ha-1) compared to other treatments. Thus, seed dressing with Nano-DAP @ 15ml/kg seeds + foliar spray of Nano Urea @ 4ml/l + Nano-DAP @ 4ml/l at PE along with RDF may be recommended to obtain higher yield and profit in rabi sorghum than with RDF alone. | ||
